Osborne Senorio del Cid Crianza 2001 shows a deep garnet color and complex aromas of black fruit with toast and oak. Good body, spicy with tremendous personality. Delicious with stews and vegetables.

Drinking this wine, one can almost feel they have fallen into a rose garden and been transported to heaven. Elysium is used to either accompany or replace dessert. It is wonderful with blue cheeses, with desserts containing red fruits (such as Summer Pudding, an English favorite), with vanilla, with dark chocolate, with ice cream desserts, and candlelight. One favorite is to pour the wine onto vanilla ice cream.

Purple-colored, the aromatics are a bit reticent initially, but soon scents of toasty oak, tar, licorice, scorched earth, and blueberry emerge. This leads to a wine which is more structured and less opulent than its peers. It will evolve for a minimum of 8-10 years and drink well through 2040.

Klinker Brick Old Vines Zinfandel 2007 comes from vines that average 85 years of age grown near the Mokelumne River in Lodi. This is a sweet, jammy wine reminscent of blackberry pie, black bepper and cigar box on the nose and palate. A concentrated vintage that's juicy and sweet, this calls for a grassfed burger with onion and tomato confit and tangy blue cheese.

Delara is a Persian word that translates as "capture one's heart", which of course is always ther goal. Delara lends one a glimpse into the true essance of the vineyards terrior. Enormous layers of bittersweet chocolate, dark fruits and Asian 5-spice are all balanced by smooth, round, fine-grained tannins for a soft finish. Though approachable now, Maysara Delara Pinot Noir 2005 will continue to develop over time.
