Tedeschi is considered one of the top producers of Amarone and Recioto wines. Still, the family has never rested on its laurels, continually striving to improve the structure of the wine by keeping the vines’ yields low. The grapes are harvested from the end of September, to the beginning of October and then are dried on racks in controlled humidity conditions for 4 months. The resulting wine has a deep red color. Tedeschi Amarone Della Valpolicella 2004 has a full bouquet showing vanilla and sweet fruits with a velvety mouthfeel and rich, raisiny flavors.

Leeuwin Prelude Vineyard Chardonnay 2006

The color of Leeuwin Prelude Vineyard Chardonnay 2006 is straw green, bright and almost luminous. This wine displays lifted pristine Margaret River Chardonnay fruit typical of the Leeuwin vineyard. The well integrated bouquet has ripe pear skin, figs, and nutty cashews. The subtle integration of French oak provides vanilla notes to this perfumed Chardonnay. Medium in weight, due to the cool ripening period the wine displays deceptive length and mouth filling structure. The palate shows fresh and vibrant pears, tangy grapefruit and peaches, with the balanced citrus acid giving the wine a delicious elegance and youthfulness. An excellent vintage for Leeuwin Estate Chardonnay, this wine will lend itself to cellaring for a number of years.

Enzo Boglietti Barolo Arione 2004

Enzo Boglietti Barolo Arione 2004 stands apart. A powerful, sinewy wine, it captures the essence of this Serralunga vineyard in its autumn leaves, iron, licorice, tar and dark fruit. There is plenty of richness and depth as well, but the wine possesses an additional level of brute force and thrust. This Barolo is a beautifully expressive wine loaded with personality. As is the case with Boglietti’s other Barolos in this vintage, the Arione develops nicely in the glass. Ideally this Italian red can use a few years of cellaring.

Nandu Malbec 2006 is ruby red, brilliant and very intense. The aromas of this South American Malbec are full of red fruit (strawberry, raspberry, red currant) with a hint of black fruit (blackberry) and spices. The wine is full, round, fleshy, very well balanced and has a good and fresh finish.

Terra Andina Carmenere 2007

The senses first experience Terra Andina Carmenere 2007 by aromas of black currant, blackberry, grilled red pepper and black pepper. In the glass, this Chilean wine is dark and deep red with violet hues. Once in the mouth the unique carmenere juice shows through. With a very varietal character, this wine shows balance with volume and soft but present tannins and a pleasant aftertaste.

Arneis is a unique dry white wine that perfectly represents the Ponzi Family’s commitment to innovation and discovery. This very rare and special Italian varietal is traditionally planted in the Northern Piedmonte region of Italy. Vibrant notes of mango, papaya, kiwi, pineapple and a touch of vanilla lead to a mouth of pear and green apple.  Ponzi Arneis 2008 is full of fresh fruit, bright acidity and a touch of sweetness which balances the finish.

Dark garnet red in color, the Mt Veeder Reserve Red 2004 has very dense and brambly aromas of dark black fruit that are complemented by sweet anise, sage, bay and toasty oak.
